Royal Gorge Bridge and Park Becomes Park After Dark in 2016. New Amphitheater Brings in Name Entertainment
Canon City, Colo.--This year the Royal Gorge Bridge & Park pulls in top-performing artists and entertainment with Park After Dark, a 5-band concert series at their Elk Park Amphitheater nestled "on the other side of the bridge." The series begins on June 5, with Kaleo, the Icelandic rock band taking America by storm, followed by Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and their 50th Anniversary Tour on June 30.
The new amphitheater follows the tradition of great Colorado venues with lawn seating for 2,500, and awe-inspiring views of the Sangre De Cristo Mountain Range. Pre-Concert entertainment begins at 6:30 pm, Bands at 8 pm. All rides shows and attractions will be open until 10 pm. Sponsored in part by Bristol Brewery and the Winery at the Holy Cross Abbey, both home-grown Colorado businesses. Here's the line-up:

Canon City, Colo. - "Mr. Bojangles" will be heard wafting over the southern Colorado Rockies as the iconic Nitty Gritty Dirt Band plays the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park's Elk Park Amphitheater, Thursday, June 30, on their 50th Anniversary Tour.
The Park After Dark Concert series, new at the Royal Gorge Bridge this year, is featuring a 5-Concert series at their new lawn-seating venue with awe-inspiring views starting with a walk across North America's Highest Suspension bridge.
The concert is sponsored by Bristol Brewery, The Winery at Holy Cross Abbey, San Isabel Propane, Black Hills Energy, Lindner Chevrolet, St. Thomas More Hospital and Edward Jones, Barb and Ron Beckner. Produced by Frawdogproductions.
Famously-known for chart toppers in the music world with songs such as "Fishin' In the Dark," the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band has multi-platinum and gold records, and has received multiple awards and nominations including IBMA, CMA, and Grammy's. Their album, "Will the Circle Be Unbroken," has been inducted into the U.S. Library of Congress and the Grammy Hall of Fame.
Legendary artists, Jeff Hann, Jimmie Fadden, Bob Carpenter, John McEuen celebrate their 50th year together with this non-stop tour.
The Park After Dark concert is $40 per person, children under 12 are free with a paid adult ticket. The Park After Dark ticket includes admission to the park for the entire day and the concert. Artist Lissa Hanner opens the concert at 6:30 p.m., Nitty Gritty Dirt Band takes the stage at 8:00 p.m., park closes at 10:00 p.m.
