On the way back from our California road trip, we had the chance to spend a few days at Copper Mountain to enjoy their summer activities.
I love the mountains and ski country, but I've actually never been there in the summer! This was a great treat for all four of us and the perfect way to end our family vacation.
In case you're wondering, what do you do at a ski resort when there's no snow? Trust me, there are a lot of options!
Copper features amazing summer pass activities, with plenty to do for everyone in your family, including:
- Rocky Mountain Alpine Coaster (this was my favorite!!!)
- Ziplining over the village
- Hydrobikes and bumper boats on the lake
- Climbing wall with different leveled courses
- Go-kart racing
- Euro-bungee trampolines
- Miniature golf
- Wrecktangle, which was Ben's favorite, a huge ninja-style course
We had a great time hanging out and trying the activities, then sitting back with a coffee and watching our kids do even more of them. My favorite, as noted, was the alpine coaster. It's amazing to control your small coaster cart going down the mountain, a completely different view compared to my usual skis. Adults and older kids control their own carts, while younger kids must ride with an adult. The kids were happy that they each got to ride in their own.
On the other hand, I'm pretty sure my son could have spent all day on the Wrecktangle. One of the Copper workers was coaching him on the different events and really helped him figure out how to run the course. He does have aspiring ninja goals. He also loved the climbing wall to practice his rock climbing skills. I have to admit, he's getting really good at it!
Our visit to Copper was during Mac & Cheese Fest. It wasn't planned, but it was a happy and delicious coincidence. In between activities, we stopped and snacked on some awesome macaroni and cheese dishes. Many weekends feature other family activities going on in the village, so it's a perfect time to check out what the resort has to offer.
We loved our two days at Copper, staying till late the second day before driving back home to the Springs. We definitely enjoyed having the day passes, which allow access to all that Copper has to offer. It was nice to be able to choose what to do next based on the waits and locations of each activity. For families stopping in for a shorter visit, individual activity passes can be purchased, along with all summer passes for those planning on a longer trip.
